12/12/2009: I
finished building my first prototype unit of the pre-built unit I plan to
have available for sale soon. The pre-built unit is designed so I can
build it completely and offer a fully finished, ready to use Press Monitor.
The
enclosure pictured was cut by hand instead of using the jigs I am developing, so
it isn't as perfect as I would like, but it turned out well enough for a
prototype.
The final product will be have a
professionally manufactured face label made for it with labels for the
buttons and its model name. It will include a power supply, press sensors,
LED press light, wiring, and a fresh 9V Duracell backup battery.
The side of the unit from the top down has a LCD
contrast adjustment hole and slide power switch. The bottom has a DC in
power jack and a RJ45 jack for the press connection. The RJ45 jack
provides for the 2 or 3 press sensors and also a LED press light for the bullet
seating station. I plan to make the power switch hole rectangular instead
of the elongated circular cut pictured here:
This shows the insides which I've
spent a great deal of time working on. The main PCB shown here is a
prototype which has a raw silver side instead of the nicely finished green
solder mask the final units will have. All the the pre-built platform
ideas have come together here including on PCB buttons, PCB/LCD cable-less
connection, PCB power switch, PCB power jack, accessible contrast adjustment,
PCB press jack.
12/06/2009: The website is finally done and hopefully the domain name will soon propagate fully and all will be up and running.
